| Belgorod. Instituted on July 21,1893. Description: "In azure shield a golden lion with red eyes and language, accompanied from above with soaring silver eagle with golden beak, eyes and claws; in a free part - the Kursk blazon. The shield is crowned with a silver tower crown with three teeth. Behind a shield two golden hammers are laid crosswise and connected by Alexander tape". |

In heraldic book of Russian military flags by 1730 a such description of the Belgorod blazon is given: "A laying lion, yellow, and above it a black one-headed eagle; under it a green ground, a field is dark blue". |
