
Title: Series of memorials - "Green belt of glory" around
Leningrad. That monument called "Nevski "pjatachok". It was a
place on Neva river where Soviet troops were trying to break the siege and
connect with the Soviet army.
Short Info: Leningrad was awarded an order of "The Hero of the Soviet
Union" for the city defence under siege of German troops in 1941-1944. The
siege lasted 900 days. About 1.000.000 were killed, mostly civillians.People
were evacuated across the iced surface of Ladoga lake when Greman troops
surrounded the city.
