So, before coming to the island, you need to solve a problem of where are you going to stay. There is a whole list of cottages and motels and camp grounds. They are all family owned, that is: small, old and inexpensive. We paid $450 per 1 week in July for 2 bedroom cottage with a third 'living' room and a kitchen. I can recommend that place, called "The Pleasant Acres" which is run by Nancy. Here is their phone #: 757-336-8555 And, please, make your reservations well in advance ($150 deposit will be required). This will guarantee you the peace of mind, since during the summer the best locations will be taken by regulars... This year the 1st chain hotel will come to Chincoteague with brand new 59-room building. It is Hampton Inn and Suites.
