Soviet Books |
| All my books were left in Russia and I was only
able to get the most treasured ones. Since the books weight as bricks, it was
impossible to bring them over here in a luggage. I would have to rent a cargo
container and ship them all at once... I will do it later... Meanwhile, I got
hold of some very unique books on the history of the Soviet Socialist
revolution of 1917, Vladimir Lenin and other revolutionaries, Great Patriotic
war, Soviet achievements in science and industries, Soviet army, Soviet sport

for example: "New districts of Moscow build in such a way so a live nature and clean air would be preserved.... Clean air - it is so important for people ! Tokyo is called a `suffocating giant`. In the capital of Japan, it is so cramped, there is virtually no greenery. In the narrow streets - caustic gas from a lot of cars. People insert coins in special machines to inhale some clean air. Why do I mention Tokyo and New York when my story is about Moscow ? Here is why. Our capital city is visited by the guests from many other cities of the world. They look, they compare. They don't like everything here. But even people who are not friendly to us, confess that in Moscow and in other Soviet cities in general, there is more done for a good of simple people than in any capitalistic city. Yes, New York has the tallest buildings. But only a rich man can pay for an appartment in such a building. In all capitals of capitalist countries a housing is very expensive. " A passage like this you will never see in any other books. It has a lot of details and factual information retold in a simple language that any little children would understand. The book is especially recommended to those boys and girls who was born abroad and have never been to the USSR. Good as a coffee table book and as a conversational piece. |
